New York Adult-Use Conditional Cultivator Applications Now Being Accepted
March 18, 2021
New York State has begun accepting its first round of applications to cultivate adult-use cannabis, which we previously discussed here and here. This first round, which is for “Adult-Use Conditional Cultivator” licenses, is only open to persons who own at least 51% of an entity that was previously authorized to grow cannabinoid (“CBD”) hemp under the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Industrial Hemp Research Pilot Program, and is in good standing with the Department of Agriculture and Markets. Furthermore, applicants must have grown cannabinoid hemp for at least 2 of the past 4 years.
The application materials for the Adult-Use Conditional Cultivator license, along with instructions and additional information, are available online here. Applications must be submitted by June 30, 2022.
We’ve opened an office in New York City and look forward to guiding clients through this and future application processes in the Empire State. Read more about our New York services here.
